Zamira Agalliu: I am a Nymph.
Inspired by Classical mythology.
I am a Nymph, daughter of the sea,
or of Nereus and Doris,
who lives long, yet is not immortal.
I remain young among rivers, seas, and forests.
I am an attendant of the processions of the gods, of Dionysus and Artemis.
I flee from men, though I do not refuse their love.
I protect people and plants,
I entice according to the counsel of the goddess,
I accept offerings of milk, oil, and honey.
Near the springs I build fountains with icons and statues bearing my name.
There they wash their hands and the masks of wickedness,
the processions of false tears.
I am a Nymph, daughter of Zeus,
who lives long and dies young.
