This book offers a comprehensive and theoretically grounded examination of the cinema of Sir Norman Wisdom, analysing his films through the lens of parametric narration and situating them within both British film history and the specific cultural context of their reception in Albania. It argues that Wisdom’s screen comedy constitutes a distinctive narrative system in which meaning is generated less through linear plot development than through the patterned organisation of performance, gesture, rhythm, and recurring comic situations. By foregrounding formal repetition and variation, Wisdom’s films exemplify a mode of cinematic narration in which style itself becomes the primary structuring principle.
